Who we are
Thornbury & Vale was founded by Ines Thornbury and Rob Vale in 2014, after both spent a decade in larger practices watching good projects get diluted between too many hands.
There are six of us now: four architects, a part-two assistant and a studio manager who keeps the rest of us honest about programme and cost. Every project has a director on it from first meeting to final inspection. Nobody gets handed over to a team they have never met.
We take on roughly eight projects a year. That is fewer than we could, and it is the whole point.
